IU Bloomington is spread across nearly 2,000 acres and offers a wide variety of academic, athletics, and arts programming. While you may not be able to see it all in one visit, you can certainly find something you love and try something new. Museums & Culture Centers

Eskenazi Museum of Art

Designed by the Louvre's I.M. Pei, the museum features works by Monet and Picasso among others in six collections and various rotating exhibitions.

Lilly Library

A library and museum of rare books, manuscripts, and other special collections. Stop by and see Thomas Jefferson's first copy of the Bill of Rights or 2 locks of Edgar Allen Poe's hair.

University Collections at McCalla

Find art, cultural heritage, scientific treasures, and more through unique exhibits, galleries, and online learning tools.

Culture Centers

Our six campus cultural centers celebrate our diverse student body while providing outreach, funding, advocacy, and hosting campus events.

Performing Arts

IU Auditorium

IU is a stop along many Broadway national tours and for your favorite comedians, public speakers, dance troops, and more!

Jacobs School of Music - Opera and Ballet Theater

One of the nation's top-ranking schools for classical and jazz music, Jacobs puts on over 1,100 performances every year including six operas and three ballets.

Department of Theater, Drama, and Contemporary Dance

See student productions of your favorite musicals and plays, as well as shows written, directed, and choreographed by the students themselves.

African American Arts Institute

The AAAI is made up of three ensembles: the African American Choral Ensemble, the African American Dance Company, and the IU Soul Revue. These ensembles have toured all over the world and have Emmy award-winning directors.

Science

Kirkwood Observatory

Open to the public on Wednesday evenings (March-November), check out the observatory's refracting and solar telescopes!

Biology Greenhouse

Take a look at a variety of rainforest, desert, and insectivorous plants at the greenhouse–free and open to the public on weekdays.
